FAQ's

Q—Should I sedate my pet before their flight?
A—No, definitely not. It is not recommended because of potential health risks. Consult your veterinarian for more information.

Q—Is the airplane’s pet area pressurized and temperature controlled?
A—Yes, the plane’s pet area is of the same pressure and temperature as the passenger cabin.

Q—How do I best prepare my pet for long travel?
A— You can begin the process by working to acclimate your pet to their traveling crate. We have found that feeding your pet in their crate works very well. In this way, they will associate the crate with something positive and it will become a place of comfort and security for them. Many pets begin to use their crate for relaxing and napping before their trip even starts!

Q— How can I keep the cost down when relocating?
A— Relocating your pet is not inexpensive. The only sure way to minimize costs is to plan ahead as much as possible so you are prepared for all the details involved in the process. For this reason, a professional pet relocation service, such as Shady Spring, can make a big difference in the bottom line.
